So I got the new 70-300mm VR lens and I am loving it. I don't think I am going to buy the D200 now. I think the issue has been cheap glass. Now that I have spent the money I think it was well worth it.

I am so hooked on the new lens that I want another one. I am selling everything I own to buy the 24-120mm VR.

Good glass makes a HUGE difference.

I'm waiting for my 17-35 f 2.8 to arrive.

The 18-200 VR is a hot item right now and is on back order for 4 - 16 weeks depending on where you want to buy it. The 24-120mm I am buying for wedding and portraits which the 18-200mmm would be good for to as well as landscape and cityscape shots.
