So I have taking to shooting people again. NO not shooting them bang bang but click click. I have started a new account for the focus on my portriats etc. I will be deleting and moving all the images of people here on surrealeye to :icondabadandthebeautiful:

Here is a sample of what I have done so far:

I will still be posting my landscape and nightphotography images here but if you want to keep up with my people stuff, you know where to find me.

Call for Seattle Models

Interested in: working with new people and expanding my Portfolio. Plus-size, Glamour, Fashion, Pin Ups and Retro models.
Looking for models that are willing accept TFP/TFCD

I am in the process of building my portfolio so I am looking for stylists, and make-up artists to work with as well.
If you are looking to add new photos to your portfolio, keep this in mind: There are a lot of gorgeous models out there to photograph and enough photographers out there to take photos of them, resulting in images that viewers will move away from, forgetting them as an involuntary heart beat. The relationship of the model and photographer should ideally be that of a creative director to a creative actor/actress. Minds working together, feeding ideas, teaching and resulting in a very creative fluid captured moment that will stimulate.

Now I need to find a place to post this so that I can get the word out. I am find it hard to post this in the correct place where it will not be deleted.

Any ideas....?

I get home this evening and I am about to start my thank you (s) for the :+fav: and the first member I thank has this brilliant 5 image gallery. So this time I am not going to talk about what I want or what I need or who is sleeping with whom in the office (you wouldn’t know them anyway). I am going to do my first feature journal of the year. Show some love for an almost new member of DA, who has little views and :+fav: of such awesome work.

So I am over on flickr and I do a searching for my name… WTF [link] I fine one of my pix post under someone else name. So I go though his posting to see what else he has posted of mine. I didn’t find any more of mine but as I view I find images that are owned by other DA users, friends of mine. Oh I GOTS to shut this ass-hat down. So, I spent much of my evening telling DA users about this punk and sending links to where they can find their posted work. Then I come back to my image that he posted. It has been posted on Flickr since 2006 2 days after I post my image. I can’t tell you the things that I want to do to this person.
So I sent an email to Flickr/yahoo copyright department and have been waiting to hear back from them. In the meantime, because I don’t know everyone’s work, take a look at his postings for your work. Lets shut this guy D O W N.
Here is his link: [link]
I have an account on Flickr now and will keep an eye out for any other accounts that are posting our work.

Don’t Make Me Look Back

Damn kids with their music. LOL Sorry I can never find a conversation to use that comment.

Well, kids it’s a new year and I am ready to go. Please don’t make me look back. I want to use this year as a leaping point and usually when one leaps they don’t look back. I plan to fill this year with risk and self atoning. I want to embody a change to be myself, throw off the blinders and eat the carrot if you know what I mean (with a sprinkle of drama queen after that statement).

New to the shelf

Before the wrap of 2007 I purchased a couple of books. As you all know I like to share my knowledge and resources and I am sure there are a few photographers out there that might find these books a great use. (doing spell check) First book: 2008 Photographer’s Market A cornucopia (reason for spell check) of over 1450 listings for book publishers, magazines, stock agencies and more. My old roommate gave me the 2006 edition and I never looked at it so I pick up the 2008 copy and I have to tell you it is an eye opener. Second Book: Welcome to Oz: A Cinematic Approach to Digital Still Photography with Photoshop. A system for creating images that owes as much to the traditional darkroom as the digital one. Don’t just read the book; study it.

Gear: Got and Wants

Well, after the cruise I found that my camera has to be put down. I now have .5 of a zipper on a bag that does now hold all of my photographic gear. Not fun trekking the globe with that feeling that everything is not secure. So I order the Nikon camera backpack. I don’t have it yet but I will update you when I get it.
I will also be on the lookout this year a new tripod and head. Let’s get real people, this is the most important item to any good photographer and the cheapo ones just ain’t cutting it (see that, I got a little ghetto there). With HDR processing and a mid level pro camera, this is the one thing I for one cannot do without.

Podcast

Suck A Fart from my bum, I hate that word. As a few of you may know, I own a Zune. You may not know that I work for Microsoft as well. When I brought this small gift to my ears I was thinking that if there was ever an issue with it I could just walk over to the department, walk up to the project manager and say “Broken, you fix”. But I have never had an issue with it.
Anyway, from one of my RSS Feeds I found a Podcast from Nikon. As I sat at my desk pretending to work, I chuckled as I listened to Mark Ellwood who sounds like Stewie from the Family Guy speak with the Nikon mucky muck. I mean the real deal guys that are building my new girlfriends and lovers (pause for chuckle) LOL.
Then it hit me, like a sloppy cheek kiss from an aunt sporting a goatee. I could get Podcasts on photography but not give that but the sub-subjects that interest me like HDR, cityscapes, landscapes and well you get the idea. So I did a search and damn baby you are fine, I found a ton of good sites with podcasts. I would list the ones that I found but you may want to do a search for the things that you are into. No one is ever into bubble baths and long walks on the beach at sunsets… Are you? LOL

Trek 2009 the 3rd Coming or Goings and getting my crap in line

So the 2007 trip was fun and an eye opener. I was unprepared for the experience, I mean as a photographer. There was just no way a person can walk off a boat into a city that they know nothing about and come away with the type of photos that will define them as a photographer. Well guess who tried… Sure I got a few good shoots but I could have had so much more.
So 2009 will be the next cruise and I am getting my crap in line now. I am learning the language, checking out flicker for location shots as well as DA. This way I can go right to the spot, shoot and be back on the ship having a drink and cigar before we pull from port. I have listed the ports below that we will be hitting. If you live in that area, ever been or know smoothing about the locations, note me.
Europe:
London (Dover), England
Le Havre (Paris), France
Vigo, Spain
Lisbon, Portugal
Malaga, Spain
Barcelona, Spain
Cannes, France
Livorno, Italy
Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy
